The Week in Politics

Everything you need to know about last week’s politics for this week’s cocktail party.

Sensible people know that there really is no war on women. It was invented by liberal misfits like Socrates and Carl Sagan back in 1930s to discredit Republicans  — who want nothing to do with it.

This week, to prove that theory, North Carolina’s lady Republican representative, Renee Ellmers, suggested that all the GOP has to do to appeal to America’s skirts is just bring the issues of the day down to a woman’s level. And she must be right, because she’s the chair of the Republican Women’s Policy Committee.

To drill the point home, Senate Ninja Turtle Mitch McConnell pointed out that American women have all they want. After all, he said, there are “a ton of women CEOs now running major companies,” You know he’s right, because 4.8% of Fortune 500 companies are run by women. Case closed.
