The Week in Politics

The Fish Lobby

This week we learned that good news has been brewing underfoot and nobody realized it!

Yes, that’s right, it was pretty much confirmed that our Congress – the one no one wants or remembers voting for and everyone is terrified of because they are complete lunatics – hasn’t done anything!

Or at least they’ve done very little, and the world is undoubtedly safer for it. In the last six months they have passed 15 pieces of legislation. Here’s some of the important ones:

H.R.325 : No Budget, No Pay Act of 2013

H.R.933 : Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013

H.R.1246 : District of Columbia Chief Financial Officer Vacancy Act

H.R.1765 : Reducing Flight Delays Act of 2013 (Because they were all running late on the tarmac to nowhere.)

H.R.1071 : To specify the size of the precious-metal blanks that will be used in the production of the National Baseball Hall of Fame commemorative coins.

H.R.258 : Stolen Valor Act of 2013

H.R.475 : To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to include vaccines against seasonal influenza within the definition of taxable vaccines. (That’s right, a tax!)

S.982 : Freedom to Fish Act

Whew!
